Great to hear from you!  Dexter and I had so much fun at your school! Right now, Dexter is doing one of his favorite things – he’s relaxing in his bed on our enclosed porch and looking out the front door at everyone walking by in the neighborhood, just like in his book “Mr. Dexter’s Neighborhood.”

We just came back from a short walk down at Cove Beach.  It was a bit chilly and windy down there, but Dexter loved it!  We were planning on going for a longer walk at Cove, but it looked like it might rain, so I didn’t want Dexter to get caught in the rain.  When we got home, he got his morning doggie treats, and now he’s very happy on the porch!

I love Dexter so much he kept coming up to me every single time to see me I was so glad you came to our school I really appreciate you coming and I sorry that sparky died but my dog rainbow is so sad to hear about that But today was the best day ever I had today, I hope you come back soon!!!

Thanks so much for inviting us over the years!  We’ve always had so much fun in your class, especially this year.  Your kids were wonderful!  Dexter loved hanging out with them.  And, yes, he is a good boy.  We stopped at my friend’s coffee shop in Norwalk on the way home, and Dexy enjoyed some of my scone and biscotti!

Happy retirement!  We’ll miss you!

Yes, Sparky passed away more than 10 years ago, September 2011.  And I definitely always remember Sparky.  She was such a great dog and my best friend, too!  I have so many wonderful memories of Sparky.  And I plan to read “Sparky’s Wonderful Life” to you and your classmates when Dexter and I visit on Thursday.

Thank you for your kind words about Sparky.  Yes, it is sad that she passed away, but she lived to be 13 years old (about 90 years old in human years), and she lived a wonderful life!  I have so many great memories of Sparky.

I’m sorry that you have allergies, but maybe you can get a dog that doesn’t shed so it won’t make you allergic.  And if you get a dog, make sure to take good care of it.  Having a dog is a big responsibility.  They depend on you to take care of them.  But they’re also a lot of fun!!  And if you don’t get one this birthday, don’t be sad.  I’m sure you’ll get a dog someday.  I didn’t get my first dog until I was 14 years old.
