I’m sorry your dog died but I really want a dog, but I have allergies of dogs I really want one I hope I get one for my birthday.

Thank you for your kind words about Sparky.  Yes, it is sad that she passed away, but she lived to be 13 years old (about 90 years old in human years), and she lived a wonderful life!  I have so many great memories of Sparky.

I’m sorry that you have allergies, but maybe you can get a dog that doesn’t shed so it won’t make you allergic.  And if you get a dog, make sure to take good care of it.  Having a dog is a big responsibility.  They depend on you to take care of them.  But they’re also a lot of fun!!  And if you don’t get one this birthday, don’t be sad.  I’m sure you’ll get a dog someday.  I didn’t get my first dog until I was 14 years old.

I love that you enjoy reading, and that’s wonderful that you plan to buy a Sparky or Dexter book!   You’ll get a great book, and you’ll also help out homeless dogs and cats because I donate $1 from each book sale to Adopt-A-Dog, the organization that rescued Sparky and Dexter from dog pounds (Sparky came from New York City and Dexter came from Fayettville, West Virginia).  We’ve donated more than $24,000 so far!!  And you like to play video games??  My son David loved playing video games, too.

Yep, Dexter and I will be there Thursday morning.  We’re looking forward to it!  I’m going to show some pictures of Sparky and Dexter, read a Sparky book (probably Sparky’s Wonderful Life, the true story of her life) and then just sit around and talk with you and your classmates.  Oh, and you’ll get to pet Dexter, too!
